Quenton Nelson

Quenton James Nelson was born March 19, 1996, in Holmdel, New Jersey. His upbringing in central New Jersey's blue-collar culture — and his Irish-American family's multi-generational presence there — shaped his reputation for grinding, punishing work. His family roots in the New York metropolitan area have remained central to his public identity throughout his career.

Nelson attended Red Bank Catholic High School in New Jersey, where he was a top-50 national recruit. He signed with Notre Dame and spent three seasons with the Fighting Irish, earning consensus first-team All-American honors twice and establishing himself as the consensus top interior lineman prospect in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Indianapolis Colts selected Nelson sixth overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, the highest-drafted pure interior lineman in recent memory.
