Josh Hines-Allen

Joshua Allen was born July 13, 1997, in Montclair, New Jersey, before his family relocated to Alabama during his teenage years. He later legally added his mother's maiden name to his own — becoming Josh Hines-Allen — to distinguish himself from the Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen. His multi-state upbringing and family emphasis on work ethic has shaped his career identity.

Hines-Allen attended Abbey College Christian Academy in Maryland before finishing at Montclair High School in New Jersey, where he was a lightly recruited defensive end. He signed with Kentucky — choosing to prove himself in the SEC — and developed into one of the most decorated defenders in Wildcats history, winning the 2018 Nagurski and Bednarik Awards as the nation's top defender.

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Hines-Allen seventh overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. He has spent his entire career in Jacksonville and become the defensive cornerstone of the franchise, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections and posting a career-high 17.5 sacks in 2023 that placed him among the NFL's sack leaders.

Hines-Allen has been named to multiple Pro Bowls and earned All-Pro consideration. His combination of bend, power, and hand technique has made him one of the more productive edge rushers of his generation, and his long-term commitment to Jacksonville has made him a face-of-franchise player on defense.
