Pat Freiermuth

Patrick John Freiermuth was born October 14, 1998, in Merrimac, Massachusetts, and grew up in a close-knit New England family that shaped his Puritan work ethic and public persona. His upbringing in a small Merrimack Valley town and his father Dan's influence as a former college football player fostered his early commitment to the tight end position, a path he pursued through elite New England high school football.

Freiermuth attended Brooks School, a private prep school in North Andover, Massachusetts, where he earned national recruiting attention as one of the top tight ends in the country. He signed with Penn State and spent three seasons with the Nittany Lions, earning Mackey Award semifinalist honors as one of the most productive tight ends in the Big Ten.
