Micah Parsons

Micah Anthony Parsons was born May 26, 1999, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was raised primarily by his mother Sherese Parsons in difficult circumstances, and his upbringing in central Pennsylvania's football culture — combined with his own natural gifts — shaped both his drive and his public persona. Parsons has spoken often about his mother's influence as the cornerstone of his development.

Parsons attended Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg before transferring to Harrisburg High School, where he became a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top edge defenders in the country. He signed with Penn State and became a dominant linebacker for the Nittany Lions, earning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2019 and finishing as a consensus All-American before opting out of the 2020 season.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Parsons 12th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, and he immediately became one of the most disruptive defensive players in the NFL. He won Defensive Rookie of the Year and earned first-team All-Pro honors in his debut season — only the second player in NFL history to achieve both.
