Biography
Andy Dalton earned the nickname "Red Rifle" during his college days at TCU, where he led a resurgence that culminated in a Rose Bowl win, and carried that moniker into the NFL as a second-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2011. Dalton was a Pro Bowl-caliber starter in Cincinnati for most of the 2010s, making the playoffs in each of his first five seasons — though the postseason breakthroughs never came.
Since leaving the Bengals, Dalton has carved out a respected second act as a veteran starter and bridge quarterback with teams including Dallas, Chicago, New Orleans, and Carolina. Now with Philadelphia, his combination of accuracy, experience, and locker-room leadership continues to make him one of the more valuable backup quarterbacks in the league.
