Biography
Drake Zev London was born July 24, 2001, in Moorpark, California. His father Dwan London played college basketball at Tulsa and later professionally overseas, which helps explain Drake's 6'4" basketball-forward frame and the body control he has since brought to the NFL. His mother Cindy raised him in a family that blended both athletic pursuits and close familial support. His younger brother Dillon London also pursued collegiate athletics.
London attended Moorpark High School in Ventura County, where he was a multi-sport star in both football and basketball — he drew Division I basketball recruitment interest before ultimately choosing football and the University of Southern California. His basketball background has informed his high-pointing ability and contested-catch skills throughout his career.
At USC, London emerged as a top Pac-12 receiver before a broken ankle in 2021 cut his breakout season short. Despite the injury interrupting his draft stock momentum, he was still selected as the first wide receiver taken in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Atlanta Falcons selected London eighth overall, the highest-drafted receiver of his class.
London has become a centerpiece of the Falcons' offense across multiple coaching and quarterback transitions, posting multiple 900-plus yard receiving seasons. His combination of size, body control, and route craft has made him one of the more complete young receivers in the NFC. His pairing with Kirk Cousins and later Michael Penix Jr. has given the Falcons a foundational receiving threat heading into their rebuild.
His career résumé is still early, but London has consistently produced as the Falcons' primary target and has earned Pro Bowl consideration in multiple seasons. His growth has been central to Atlanta's offensive identity, and he has positioned himself as the team's long-term cornerstone at the receiver position.
Off the field, London has cultivated a low-key, football-focused public image, rarely chasing celebrity attention. He has supported youth mentorship and educational initiatives in both Southern California and the Atlanta region, and his endorsement portfolio is developing with Nike and other brand deals typical of young first-round receivers. His multi-sport background has made him a unique physical specimen at his position, and his continued development has established him as one of the more promising receivers of his draft class.
