Isiah Pacheco

Isiah Elijah Pacheco was born March 2, 1999, in Vineland, New Jersey, into a family that would endure profound tragedy during his rise through football. His older sister Celeste and older brother Travoise were both killed in separate acts of violence during Isiah's teenage years — losses that have shaped his understanding of family, purpose, and perseverance. His mother Zoraida and his remaining siblings have been a constant source of support through the hardships.

Pacheco attended Vineland High School in southern New Jersey, where he was a multi-sport athlete in football and track. His physicality as a runner and his 4.4-second 40-yard dash speed made him a standout recruit, and he signed with Rutgers — staying in-state and helping to rebuild the struggling Big Ten program. His four seasons with the Scarlet Knights produced over 2,400 rushing yards and established him as one of Rutgers' most productive recent backs.

The Kansas City Chiefs selected Pacheco in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, a low-investment pick that has become one of the great late-round steals of recent memory. He emerged as the Chiefs' starting running back by his rookie year and played a significant role in the back-to-back Super Bowl championships the Chiefs captured following the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Pacheco's 2022 and 2023 seasons included Super Bowl LVII and LVIII championship runs, during which his physical downhill running style complemented Patrick Mahomes's passing game.
