Garrett Wilson

Garrett Wilson was born July 22, 2000, in Columbus, Ohio, though his family moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area when he was young. His father Kenny was a college track sprinter, which helps explain Garrett's elite speed and athletic background. Raised alongside his brother in the Metroplex, Wilson developed his receiver craft at one of the most competitive high school football regions in the country.

Wilson attended Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas — the same program that produced Baker Mayfield and several other Division I quarterbacks and receivers — and became the Gatorade Texas Football Player of the Year. He returned to Ohio to play college football at Ohio State, and his three seasons with the Buckeyes produced one of the more productive receiving careers in program history, finishing with more than 2,200 receiving yards and a reputation as one of the most technically advanced route runners in college football.

The New York Jets selected Wilson tenth overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, and he won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after posting 1,103 receiving yards despite playing with multiple quarterbacks during the Jets' tumultuous 2022 season. He has since produced consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns despite the Jets' quarterback carousel, cementing himself as one of the most reliable young wide receivers in the league.

Wilson has been selected to Pro Bowls and has become the clear centerpiece of the Jets' passing attack. His combination of body control, elite hands, and route craft — especially his stop-start ability at the top of routes — has made him one of the more technically impressive young receivers in the NFL.

His résumé includes Offensive Rookie of the Year, Pro Bowl selections, and multiple 1,000-yard receiving seasons despite cycling through Zach Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and other passers.
