Biography
Jordan Addison was born March 27, 2002, in Frederick, Maryland, and later moved to the Pittsburgh area during his teenage years. His upbringing in the mid-Atlantic region shaped his football development, and his move to Pittsburgh placed him in a different high school football culture that ultimately led him to the University of Pittsburgh for college.
Addison attended Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, before completing his high school career at Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh. He signed with Pitt and immediately emerged as one of the most productive receivers in the ACC, winning the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver in 2021. He transferred to USC for his final college season, following head coach Kenny Heupel's former offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley to Los Angeles.
The Minnesota Vikings selected Addison 23rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he immediately stepped into a key role alongside Justin Jefferson. His rookie season produced 911 receiving yards and ten touchdowns, and he has since continued to develop into one of the most productive young secondary receivers in the league.
Addison's combination of elite route craft, reliable hands, and ability to produce opposite Justin Jefferson has made him one of the more unique complementary receivers in the NFL. His chemistry with Vikings quarterbacks — from Kirk Cousins to Sam Darnold and J.J. McCarthy — has produced consistent production across multiple passing styles.
His career résumé includes the Biletnikoff Award at Pittsburgh, multiple 900-plus yard receiving seasons, and status as one of the most productive young receivers in the NFC. His rookie touchdown production placed him among the most efficient first-year receivers in recent league memory.
Off the field, Addison has maintained a quiet public profile. He has supported youth football initiatives in both his native Maryland area and the Pittsburgh community, and he maintains endorsement partnerships with Nike and other brands. His path through three different college programs — and his successful NFL transition — has made him one of the more adaptable young receivers in the league.
